USYS National League Regional Showcase Virginia 2025 - Tournament Recap



This weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the USYS National League Regional Showcase Virginia, at River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, Va. This three-day event saw over 100 Boys and Girls teams from eight different states across the East Region, including DE, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, and WV. The event kicked off the Spring National League season in the East Region, and teams had the opportunity to play cross-conference competition, preparing them for their season ahead.

The 15U Boys Platinum Bracket delivered a highly competitive weekend, with Complete Athlete Training CAT 2010 Elite Boys (NJ) and Virginia Reign B10 (VA) finishing at the top, both securing seven points. Complete Athlete Training edged ahead on goal differential (+5), remaining unbeaten with two wins and a draw. Virginia Reign also impressed, scoring crucial victories and holding CAT 2010 to a 1-1 draw. Next Level Soccer Ajax (MD) and Haddonfield SC Academy Red (NJ) closely followed with six points each, showcasing strong performances.  


The 16U Boys Platinum Bracket featured a dominant performance from Cerritos Soccer Academy CSA 2009 BLUE (MD), who claimed the top spot with a perfect 3-0-0 record, scoring four goals while keeping a flawless defensive shutout. Their disciplined play and efficient attack secured a 1-0 win over Knights FC, another 1-0 victory against Virginia Velocity, and a 2-0 triumph over FC Richmond to finish with nine points. 


Knights FC 09B Red (MD) and Virginia Velocity U16 Academy (VA) closely contested for second place, both finishing with seven points and an identical +5 goal differential. Knights FC showed attacking prowess with a 4-0 win over VA Reign, while Virginia Velocity impressed with a 3-0 win over VA Rush and solid defensive displays. 



The 17U Boys Platinum Bracket was a battlefield of grit, goals, and high-stakes drama, with Herndon Youth Soccer RL B08 (VA) rising above the competition to claim the top spot. Herndon’s attacking firepower was on full display, racking up eight goals across three matches.  


Cerritos Soccer Academy CSA 2008 (MD) put up a strong challenge, staying unbeaten with a 1-1 draw against Ironbound SC and a 2-0 victory over Virginia Reign, ultimately finishing second with five points. Meanwhile, the battle for third place was intense, with Ironbound SC (NJ), Virginia Reign (VA), and Stafford Soccer (VA) all ending on four points.  


The 19U Boys Platinum Bracket was a thrilling showcase of talent, but IFA West 2007 Boys (MA) stood above the rest, delivering a perfect 3-0-0 record to claim the top spot. Their dominance was undeniable, netting 10 goals and conceding only two, with commanding victories over Columbia SC (3-0), Anthracite FC (3-0), and FC Frederick (4-2). Their attacking efficiency and defensive composure made them the undisputed champions of the bracket. 

Hot on their heels, Virginia Reign B07/06 (VA) put up an impressive fight, finishing undefeated with seven points. A thrilling 4-2 win over FC Frederick and a 3-1 victory over Anthracite FC kept them in contention, but a 2-2 draw against Columbia SC ultimately left them in second place. 


The 15U Girls Diamond Bracket was a test of resilience and tactical discipline, with Charlottesville Alliance 2010G Navy (VA) emerging as the undefeated champions. Their balanced approach led them to a 2-1 victory over Yardley Makefield Soccer, a 1-0 win against VA Rush, and a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Virginia Reign, securing seven points and the top spot. 


Virginia Reign G2010 (VA) finished second with four points, showcasing an impenetrable defense by not conceding a single goal. A 3-0 win over VA Rush and a 0-0 stalemate with Charlottesville Alliance kept them in contention, but they couldn’t find the extra edge to take the top spot. 


The 16U Girls Bracket was a thrilling contest, but Yardley Makefield Soccer 2009 Premier Celtic Girls (PA-E) left no doubt about their dominance. With a perfect 3-0-0 record, 11 goals scored, and only one conceded, they steamrolled their way to the top. Their emphatic 4-0 win over NVSC, 4-1 victory against Patriot FC, and 3-0 triumph over Fredericksburg FC showcased their offensive firepower and defensive resilience. 


SAC/BA Pre-Academy (MD) fought hard for second place, finishing with seven points after a 2-1 win over Fredericksburg FC and a 3-1 victory over EPIC SC, but a 3-0 loss to Yardley Makefield kept them from the top spot. 



The 17U Girls Bracket saw Virginia Reign G08 (VA) put on a commanding performance, finishing at the top with a perfect 3-0-0 record. Their disciplined play and sharp attack led them to a 3-2 victory over Beekman SC, a 3-0 shutout of Fredericksburg FC, and a 2-0 win over Virginia Valor FC, securing nine points and the championship. 

Beekman SC Fire (NYE) took second place with six points, showcasing their offensive firepower by scoring 10 goals in three matches. They dominated Fredericksburg FC 6-0 and closed with a 3-0 win over Virginia Valor, but their 2-3 loss to Virginia Reign kept them from the top. 


The USYS NL Regional Showcase VA 19U Girls Diamond Bracket saw Virginia Valor FC 2007G (VA) dominate the competition, winning all three of their matches with an impressive 12 goals scored and only 2 conceded. Their campaign featured a 5-1 win over SAC/BA Pre-Academy, a 3-0 shutout of South County AA Elite, and a 4-1 victory over Charlottesville Alliance, securing nine points and the top spot. 


South County AA Elite (VA) battled to a second-place finish with four points, earning a 1-0 victory over SAC/BA and a 0-0 draw with Charlottesville Alliance, but their 3-0 defeat to Virginia Valor kept them from challenging for the title.
