Ironbound Soccer Club: Providing Pathway to Excel with New York Red Bulls



Ironbound Soccer Club has a long history of producing top players, and through its relationship with New York Red Bulls, players are reaching new heights. In recent years, the club has become a gold mine for the New York Red Bulls Academy, with several players joining the academy from Ironbound each year.

Tyler Adams, currently with Red Bull Leipzig, spent time as a youth player with Ironbound SC. After signing as a homegrown player for Red Bull, Tyler excelled and became on the clubs top players, earning his way to a spot on the US National team, and cementing himself as one of the top players the nation has to offer. His success with NY Red Bulls and the National Team led to Red Bull Leipzig of the German Bundesliga, one of the top clubs in the world. With his success at all levels, Adams looks back at his time at Ironbound SC as one of the highlights of his youth career.


One of the most recent NY Red Bull homegrown signing John Tolkin, who signed on January 14, 2020 . Tolkin played for Ironbound SC Fever before joining the Red Bulls Academy. Ironbound SC Fever has been one of the top teams in the nation, and was a big part of the Tolkin’s development. Tolkin has been a member of the U17 youth national team, and was a member of Red Bulls II during the 2019 season and is considered one of the top left back prospects in the nations.


Tolkin’s teammate with Ironbound SC Fever was Nico Rosamillia, who is now starring for Red Bulls Academy. The son of Sal Rosamillia, a standout at Kearny High School and All-American at Columbia University, Sal coached both Nico and John with the Ironbound Fever. Nico is one of the top prospects in the class of 2021, and is looking to follow in the footsteps of Tyler and John. "Our mission is to provide our players with the opportunity to play at the highest level, at the lowest cost, and the pathway to the Red Bulls and their Academy is one of the ways. This year we will have at least two Ironbound SC Alumni making their MLS debuts: John Tolkin (Red Bulls) and Joey DeZart (Orlando City). In addition, having our players performing well in high school and college athletically and scholastically also makes us proud. In the last 5 years, 2 NJ Gatorade High School player of the year, have roots with Ironbound teams." — John Soares, Ironbound SC Director of Operations
