Ransford Gyan, a Freshman for Division 1 powerhouse Clemson scored in back-to-back matches, his first two goals of the season. Last week, he scored the game-winning goal in the team's 3-2 win over Louisville, and this week, he scored the game-tying goal which propelled them to a 4-2 win over Queens. Clemson is 8-2-2 and ranked in the top 10 in the country, and Gyan has started 11 out of the team's 12 games.
During his youth career with Cedar Stars Academy, Gyan was a main attraction at many EDP Showcases, drawing college coaches from around the country. He was a two-time Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year (2023 and 2024) and three-time Gatorade New Jersey Boys Soccer Player of the Year (2021-24). In 2022, he won the Golden Boot at the USYS National Championships and his team captured the U18 national title.
