EDP Florida Competitive Leagues Fall 2023 Playoff Recap

SUSA vs Liverpool FC Girls Showcase Soccer

EDP Soccer, Florida’s fastest growing youth soccer league, hosted its annual end of Fall Season Playoff on December 9-10, 2023. Hosted at Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex, in Fleming Island, Florida, top teams from around the state competed to be crowned EDP Florida Competitive League Champions. The event featured the league’s top 9U-14U Boys and Girls age groups, and teams earned their spot through their results during the Fall Season.

The Fall Season had over 1,000 teams from more than 120 clubs, and saw over 4,000 games played to see which 80 teams would compete. The playoffs created cross-region matchups, having top teams play the other top teams across the state.

A look at the results from the weekend:

9U Boys

It was an all South Florida Final, as both Atletico de Madrid U9 Elite Doral and Weston FC 2015 Black dominated the group stages behind their high-powered attacks. In the final, it was Weston who proved to be the state’s top team, and came away with the big win to be crowned champion.

10U Girls

Azzurri Storm 2014 Girls Premier finished in first place in the group stages, and recorded back-to-back clean sheets on their way to the final, including their win over Florida Prime Soccer 2014 Girls Pink in the semi-final. Orlando City SS Lake Nona 2014 Girls Purple defeated FC Prime Miami 2014 Elite Girls in a high-scoring semi-final, winning the match 8-4. In the final, Azzurri Storm defeated Orlando City 4-2.

10U Boys

Barca Academy Pro Miami B2014 PEDRI claimed their second consecutive playoff championship. One of the most dominant teams of the weekend, they allowed just four goals all weekend, and their offense could not be stopped. They won all four games in impressive fashion, capped off with a win in the final against W&H America 2014 Boys ULTRA.

11U Girls

There was little separating the six teams in this age group, with most games decided by one or two goals. Lee County Strikers 2013 Girls made the final going 3-0-0 in the group stages, where they met Florida Prime Soccer 2013 Girls Pink who beat out Palm Beach Garden Predators 13 GIRLS ELITE on the head-to-head tie-breaker, as both teams finished 2-1-0. In the final, after trailing for most of the game, Lee County Strikers 2013 Girls scored a late goal to take it to penalty kicks. After a back-and-forth shootout, Lee County won the shootout to become League Champions.

11U Boys

Weston FC 2013 Future Elite II capped off their perfect season, allowing just one goal over the weekend. After finishing the season a perfect 8-0-0, they would prove why they are the league's top team. The final was a battle between two of South Florida’s top teams, and Weston defeated Barca Academy Pro Miami B2013 Gundogan, just as they did during league play.

12U Girls

FC Prime 2012 Elite Girls was the lone team to go through the group stages unbeaten, winning all three of their matches with scores of 2-1, 2-1 and 4-3. Nona Soccer 2012 Girls Black finished in second in the group stages, coming out of a three-way tie-breaker over FC America 2012G Red and Pinecrest Premier 2012 Girls Blue. Similar to the results from the group stages, the final was another close game. Nona SA came away with an exciting 4-3 win to bring the championship back to Central Florida.

12U Boys

Weston FC 2012 Boys Future Elite II 3-0 win over Nona Soccer 2012 Black in the first game of the group stages is what separated the sides, and Weston came out of Bracket A with a 3-0-0 record. In Bracket B, FC Prime Pre ECNL B12 and Silva Select 2012 were both 2-0-1, drawing in their match against each other Sunday morning in the deciding game of the Bracket. It would come down to goal differential, and FC Prime would advance with one goal better. In the final, Weston was too much for FC Prime to handle, and came away with a 5-1 victory.

13U Girls

Jupiter United 2011 Girls Elite defeated Warner SC ASG FL 2011G 1-0 on Sunday at noon to make the final with a perfect 3-0-0 record, while Plant City 2011G Premier had to defeat Clay County SC USA 12 Pre-Girls Academy during the same time slot to move ahead of Warner in the standings. In the final, Jupiter United came away with a 4-1 win to become state champions.

13U Boys

Team Boca 2011 Boys White and FC America 2011B Red drew the opening game 1-1, and it came down to Sunday to see who would reach the final as both entered the day 1-0. Team Boca would defeat Winter Park 5-0, clinching their berth in the final on goal differential. They would come up against GOTFC 2011 Elite, who went 3-0-0, and did not allow a goal against in the group stages. However the final was a different story, with Team Boca being able to finally break the GOTFC defense, and winning the match 3-1.

Warner SC ASG FL 2010G defeated Ormond Beach Waves 2010 Girls 2-1, then topped the Central Brevard Soccer Cyclones 2010 Navy 1-0 to make the final. Cooper City Optimist Cobras G 2010 Red defeated SSA Coastal 2-1 to earn their spot. After an exciting weekend, we announced co-champions due to weather conditions impacting the final.

14U Boys

Indialantic YSA Force Boys 2010 Black, one of the top-ranked teams in the country came out of the gates strong, recording a 4-0 over FC Florida Prep 2010 and then defeating Winter Park 3-2 to put them into the final before the last group game.
