EDP Fall Classic 2024 - Tournament Recap



Teams at the EDP Fall Classic 2024 enjoyed two days of beautiful weather for soccer across five venues this past weekend. Over 400 Boys and Girls teams from 8U-19U age groups competed across 64 Brackets. Clubs were in attendance from all over the Northeast and Canada representing NJ, NY, CT, RI, PA, DE, MD, Ontario, and Quebec. 

Of the over 115 Clubs in attendance, 13 of them had multiple teams finish group play with a perfect 3 points per game, led by SJEB FC with five teams, then Match Fit Academy with four teams, and CT Rush, Inter Connecticut, Monmouth United and TSF Academy with three. There were 13 teams who did not allow a goal in the group stages, with Match Fit Academy as the only club with multiple teams accomplishing it. From Clubs with more than four teams in the event, SJEB FC had the best overall points per game with 2.296, followed by SPFSC EP3, NY Rush, and Sporting Athletic Club. The best overall goal differential was also SJEB FC, followed by Monmouth United, Inter Connecticut, Match Fit Academy FC, Real Futbol Academy, and TSF Academy.

TSF Academy 2017 Blue started off strong in the Red Bracket, holding both opponents to just one goal in back-to-back wins on Saturday. On Sunday, they opened with a 2-2 draw against NESA and entered the final game against Cedar Stars Academy North Newark 2017/18 Boys Green with both teams have a chance to finish top of the table. TSF Academy played a great game and came away with a 4-0 win to finish in first place.


In the White Bracket, SJEB FC 17B Red defeated Ole Pre-Academy B2017 in the final. 


In the Red Bracket, CFC Ole FC Pre-Academy G2016 opened with a 0-0 draw against FC Europa before winning their next two matches to book their place in the final. They would face off against Match Fit Academy FC Shore 2016 Girls White who entered with a perfect record, having won three games and not allowing a goal. The final was extremely close, with CFC Ole FC finally cracking Match Fit’s back line, and winning the final 1-0.


Match Fit Academy FC 2016 Morris Blue won the White Bracket, and Monmouth United 2017 Girls Blue won the Blue Bracket. 


Lower Merion SC Mambas Navy 2016 and Real Futbol Academy RFA 2016B played two fantastic games against each other in the Red Bracket. Drawing 1-1 in the first match, both teams made the final with a 2-0-1 record. In the final, very little separated the two sides again, with Lower Merion winning the match 3-2.


Real Futbol Academy RFA 2016B II won the White Bracket, and Philadelphia SC 16 Azzurri won the Blue Bracket. 

 




Match Fit Academy FC 2015 Girls Shore used a high-powered attack to come out on top of the Red Bracket, going 3-0-0 in the group stages, then defeating SJEB 3-2 in the final.


SJEB FC 15G Black won the White Bracket, and Brooklyn United Academy G2015 National won the Blue Bracket on penalty kicks over East Meadow Soccer Club Lille. 


Sporting Athletic Club 2015B Black won the Red Bracket, going 3-0-1 in four close matches over the weekend. A 5-4 opening win over South Merrick PAL Sharks Academy B2015 was followed by a 3-3 draw against CFC Ole Pre-Academy B2015. On Sunday, they defeated Ball Masters Lions 2015 3-1 and HVAA Fury 2015 5-2.


The Football Academy NJ 2015 Boys Silver won the White Bracket, Middletown SC Mavericks Red won the Blue Bracket on penalty kicks, and RCD Espanyol de Barcelona NJ 2015 PICHI ALONSO won the Orange Bracket on penalty kicks. 


SJEB FC 14G Pre GA went 3-0-0 to reach the final where they played STA-MUSC 2014G Pre-GA who had gone 2-0-1. STA picked up momentum into the final after a 2-2 opening draw against NJ Crush FC 2014 Orange, then won 2-1 over YMS, and 2-0 over CFC Ole FC. In the final SJEB FC used their tough defense that only allowed one goal in the tournament, and strong attack that scored multiple goals each match to win 2-0.


Match Fit Academy FC Girls Mercer 2014 Blue won the White Bracket, SJEB FC 14G Black won the Blue Bracket, and Voorhees SA Ice Dragons 2014 won the Orange Bracket in penalty kicks over Manhattan SC North G2014 Blue. 


Monmouth United Soccer 2014 Boys Premier I came out of a very tough Group A in the Red Bracket, opening the event with a 5-4 win over NY Rush Binghamton 2014B Black. They then defeated The Football Academy NJ 2014 Boys Black 5-2, and finished the group with a 2-1 win over Manhattan Kickers FC 2014's. In the final, they defeated Yardley Makefield Soccer 2014 Boys Milan.


CT Rush Central 2014 Boys Blue won the White Bracket, CFC Ole Pre-Academy B2014 won the Blue Bracket, East Greenwich SA Kingsway Premier 2014 Boys won the Orange Bracket, Howell United SC 2014B Select Blue Extreme won the Yellow Bracket, and FC Copa B14 Black NJ West won the Green Bracket. 





East Greenwich SA Kingsway Premier 2013 Girls won the Red Bracket, finishing top of the table in the group stages with 7 points after drawing 1-1 against NJ Crush FC 2013 Pre-ECNL RL. In the final, they beat Match Fit Academy FC 2013 Morris Pre-ECRL 2-0.


Yardley Makefield Soccer 2013 Celtic Ghirls won the White Bracket, Inter Connecticut FC 2013 Girls Union Black won the White Bracket, and Match Fit Academy FC Shore 2014G won the Orange Bracket. 


The Red Bracket was the group to watch heading into the weekend and did not disappoint. Sporting Athletic Club 2013B Pre-MLS Black reached the final going 3-0-0 with all three games being one-goal games: a 1-0 win over Manhattan SC PSG 2013 Blue, a 2-1 win over The Football Academy NJ 2013 Boys Silver, and a 2-1 victory over Rhode Island Surf B2013 Elite. Penn Fusion Soccer Academy EPP 2013 was also 3-0-0, making a statement win in the first game over Delaware Football Club 2013 Boys Pre ECNL-Black, and then 2-1 over World Class FC Pre-ECNL, and 1-0 over Jersey City Soccer Association 2013 Boys Green. The final saw the two undefeated sides end regulation 1-1, and Penn Fusion winning in the penalty shootout.


Rahway Youth Soccer JFC-CHELSEA won the White Bracket, World Class FC 2013 PRE ECNL RL won the Blue Bracket, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona NJ 2013 JAVI PUADO won the Orange Bracket, NJ Premier B2013 won the Yellow Bracket, SFL Club 2013 Boys Pre-NL won the Green Bracket, Rancocas Valley SC 2013 Messi won the Indigo Bracket, and Cherry Hill FC 2013 Junior Premier Force won the Violet Bracket. 


In the Red Bracket, Match Fit Academy FC Girls Mercer 2012 Blue and SJEB FC 13G Pre GA drew 0-0 on Saturday, and after both went 2-0-1, they met again in Sunday’s final. In another very close match, both teams were able to find the back of the net, with Match Fit winning 2-1. 


FC Copa G12 ECNL RL NJ Central won the White Bracket, Match Fit Academy FC Girls Mercer 2013 Blue won the Blue Bracket, and Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Legacy won the Orange Bracket. 


Auburndale SC Blast 2012 won the Red Bracket, winning all four of their matches including three clean sheets. They defeated Rhode Island Surf B2012 Elite 1-0 and Scrosoppi FC Boys 2012 Black 3-2 on day one and then had a big win over RCDE before defeating NY Rush Select 12B NAL in the championship match.


Upstate Elite 2012 won the White Bracket in penalties over PSA Monmouth '12 Boys RL, SPFSC EP3 2012B Blue Pre-USYS won the Blue Bracket, and HVAA Venom 2012 won the Orange Bracket. 


In the Red Bracket, it was extremely evenly matched across all six teams. PSA Monmouth 2011 G ECNL RL and CT Rush Select ECNL RL 2011 Girls tied 0-0 in their final game, and Real Futbol Academy RFA U14G NAL and STA-MUSC 2011G NAL also tied 0-0 in their final game, which saw FC Europa FCE 2011 Girls G1 reach the final to take on Match Fit Academy FC Mercer Girls 2011. Just as they did earlier in the event, Match Fit once again scored three goals to defeat FC Europa to win first place.


CFC Ole Academy G2011 won the White Bracket, and Berks United FC 2011 Girls U14 Thunder won the Blue Bracket. 


Penn Fusion Soccer Academy EPP 2011 and CT Rush Select 2011 Boys both dominated the group stage on the way to the final, both going 3-0-0 while scoring 11 goals. The two sides couldn’t be separated in regulation drawing 1-1, and in penalty kicks it was again deadlocked, with CT Rush ultimately winning 6-5 in the penalty shootout.


Torpedoes BU14 Red won the White Bracket on penalties, EX FC Dominion USYS 11B won the Blue Bracket, and RCD Espanyol de Barcelona NJ 2011 JHON LAURIDSEN won the Orange Bracket. 


Anthracite FC 2010 Girls Lyon had a perfect tournament, recording wins of 4-0, 3-0, 4-0, and then capping it off with a 2-0 win over FC Europa FCE 2010 Girls G1 in the Red Bracket.


FC Europa FCE 2010 Girls Elite won the White Bracket, winning all four of their matches. 


Just Play SC Premier B10 EA Elite won their opening match 5-2 and then kept three clean sheets in a row to win first place in the Red Bracket. They then had back-to-back 3-0 wins to finish the group stages, and then defeated Copiague Youth League United FC B2010 4-0 in the final. Warrington FC United 2010B won the White Bracket, and TSF Academy 2010 Boys EDP won the Blue Bracket. 





Tarkill Thunder and Cherry Hill FC 2009 Premier Surge drew 0-0 and would both go on to win their other three matches to both finish with 10 points. Both allowed just one goal, but Cherry Hill’s 4-0 win over Gotham Girls Cruzeiro in the final match saw them go ahead of Tarkill in the “goals for” tiebreaker to win first place. 


BW Gottschee '09 II won the Red Bracket going 3-0-0 and defeated Rahway Youth Soccer JFC-ARSENAL 4-2 in the final.


Yardley Makefield Soccer 2009 Boys Strikers won the White Bracket, winning the final 2-0. 


The White Bracket was very evenly matched, with all four teams having a chance to reach the final when they all entered Sunday on 3 points. The final would end up being SSF Blizzard vs Falls SC FSC Predators 2007 Boys, with SSF Blizzard winning 3-0.


In the Blue Bracket FC Dutchmen Bold 2008 boys EDP won first place with a 2-0-2 record, with all five teams having a goal differential between +2 and –2. 


World Class FC 2008/09 Heim took on an undefeated Gotham Girls Flamengo in the final and came out with a tough 1-0 victory to win first place. In the group stages, they went 2-0-1, with their 1-1 draw against SSF Blizzard giving them the 7 points they needed to reach the final. 


Unity Rush 2006 Boys went 1-1-1 in the group stages, reaching the final on goal differential after they drew RUSA 2-2 in the final group stage game. In the final, United Rush flipped the script on an earlier 3-2 loss against Medford Strikers Academy Boys 2006, this time defeating them 2-0 for the championship.
