EDP Fall Classic 2022 Tournament Recap


EDP Soccer hosted the EDP Fall Classic over the weekend, with 8U-19U teams participating in one of the most popular events of the Fall Season. As 8U-14U teams’ seasons come to an end, and 15U-19U teams begin to prepare for upcoming showcases, the event was the perfect opportunity for clubs to see all of their teams in action. Over 375 teams from 132 clubs participated across 57 divisions, with teams from seven different states including NJ, NY, PA, CT, RI, MA, and MD as well as teams from Canada and Puerto Rico.

Several clubs had the most successful weekends, with SUSA FC leading the way with their 12 teams winning 30 out of their possible 36 Group Stage games. World Class FC’s five teams won 13 out of 15 and scored 56 goals. Real Jersey FC’s six teams went 16-2-2 in group play averaging over three goals per game. SJEB FC’s 11 teams averaged 2.11 points per game, and NJ Premier’s FC’s 14 teams scored an impressive 105 goals, trailing only STA and SUSA FC for most goals of the tournament.


 

A Look At The Weekend’s Results:


In the Europa League Division, NJ Surf Mercer 2015 Boys allowed just one goal in their three group stage games, and defeated Soccer Club of Springfield Ninjas 1-0 in group play, and defeated them again in an extremely close final to win the championship.


In the Damallsvenskan Division, Real Jersey FC 2014 went 4-0-0 to win the group, defeating second place STA-MUSC 2014G NL EDP 4-2 in the final game to clinch first place. They also defeated NJ Premier FC and Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth over the weekend.


In the US Open Cup Division, Real Jersey FC 2014 defeated Manhattan Kickers FC in the final game to win the championship, wrapping up an impressive weekend that also included a 4-1 win over Lower Merion SC Wolves and a 2-0 win over Brooklyn United Academy. In the African Cup of Nations Division, Monmouth United Soccer MUSC 2014 Boys Premier won the final 3-1 over LFCNJ 2014 Boys Red Burlington, winning the championship after going 3-0-0 in group play that saw them defeat NJ Surf Mercer, Cedar Stars Academy North Bergen and NJ Stallions.


In the NWSL Division, SUSA FC G13 defeated Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Reign 5-2 in the final, as their attack was unable to be contained in each of their four matches. In the Frauen-Bundesliga Division, NYSC G2013 White and SUSA FC G13 Blue each entered the final a perfect 3-0-0, but the NYSC backline was unable to be broken down in the final, leading them to a 2-0 win over SUSA. In the La Liga de Futbol Femenino División, STA MOSC 2013/14 Girls and Cedar Stars Academy (Staten Island) G2013 Green drew 2-2 in the final, with Cedar Stars winning on penalty kicks.


In the Olympic Summer Games Division, World Class FC 2013 ADL Blue and Real Jersey FC 2013 each went 3-0-0 in group play. World Class scored 12 goals in group play, but was unable to find the back of the net in the final, and the Real Jersey FC attack continued to fire on all cylinders as they scored five times to claim the top spot. In the Copa Del Rey Division, Medford SC MSC Renegades clinched their spot in the final on day one with a 4-3 win over TSF and a 3-1 win over Cedar Stars Academy North Newark. On Sunday, they kept a clean sheet against NJ Surf Mercer 2013 boys in the final. In the AFC Asian Cup Division, Princeton FC Bayern beat Cape Express Avengers 2013 3-1 in the final, capping off their fourth win in four matches.


In the CONCACAF W Championship Division, SJEB FC 12G Pre-GA's 3-2 win over SUSA FC G12 ended up being the deciding factor in the group, and in the final they got the best of Council Rock United FC Bucks 2012 Girls Regulators 3-0. In the Copa America Feminina Division, STA-MUSC 2012G USYS reached the final through the goal differential tie-breaker over NYSC after the two sides drew 0-0. In the final, STA was defeated by SUSA FC G12 BLUE. In the Cyprus Cup Division, NJ Premier G2012 defeated SDA 2012 GIRLS PRE GA in the final, getting revenge on the side that defeated them 2-0 in the group's opening game.


In the CONCACAF Gold Cup Division, Tournament Time Game Awareness Elite traveled down from Canada and reached the final by defeating NY Red Bulls and drawing with AS Junior Elite. In the final, they defeated an unbeaten Real Jersey FC 2012 Pre-MLS by a 2-0 scoreline. In the Copa Libertadores Division, Lower Merion Rovers Navy 2012 won a ‘must-win’ game 3-1 Haverford SC HSC Strikers to win their group, but was upended by SJEB FC 12B Red in the final. In the Carabao Cup Division, it was an all-PSA final, with PSA Monmouth '12 Boys defeating PSA North '12 Boys. In the FIFA Club World Cup Division, Monmouth United Soccer MUSC 2012 Boys Blue defeated The Football Academy NJ 2012 Boys Gold in the final.


In the SheBelieves Cup Division, SUSA FC G11 Blue opened the weekend with a 1-1 draw to Ginga FC, but then kept two clean sheets over Real Jersey FC and STA to reach the final where they would defeat SJEB FC 11G PRE-GA. In the Istria Cup Division, NJ Premier G2011 went 2-0-1 in group play, and defeated STA-MUSC 2011G NL EDP 2-0 in the final. In the Africa Valais Cup Division, DUSC G2011 Blue was 3-0-0 in group play and defeated second place Yardley Makefield Soccer 2011 Girls Dynamite 3-0 in the final.


In the FIFA World Cup Division, Rhode Island Surf B2011 Elite Blue opened up with a 2-2 draw verse Match Fit Academy FC Pre ECNL 2011 Black, and then defeated Olympiacos NY 3-0 and SJEB FC 2-1 to reach the final where they defeated a 3-0-0 World Class FC 2011 ADL side to bring the championship back to New England. In the Copa do Brasil Division, Princeton FC Inter defeated World Class FC 2011 ADL Orange in the final in a battle of two 3-0-0 teams. In the UEFA Champions League Division, Real Jersey FC 2011 EDP Premier gave FC Berna Legacy Legacy 2011 Boys Black their first loss of the competition in the final.


In the FIFA Women's World Cup Division, SUSA FC G10 RL won 1-0 and 2-0 on Saturday, before their offense clicked on Sunday, and they scored five goals in back-to-back games, including their 5-0 win over World Class 2010 ECRL in the final. In the Aphrodite Cup Division, LI Slammers Girls 2010 Maroon finished two points ahead of Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth 2010G NL after the two sides drew 3-3 and then defeated Radnor SC 2010 3-0. In the Pinatar Cup Division, a 3-0-0 SUSA FC G10 CAROLINA defeated a 3-0-0 Roxbury Venom Elite in the final. In the Tournoi de France division, Stateline SC-2010G Bears bounced back from an early-day loss to Rancocas Valley Red Devils 2010 to defeat DUSC G2010 Blue in the final.



In the Bundesliga Division, PA Rush 2010 Rush Boys kept four consecutive clean sheets on their way to the championship, recording three 4-0 victories and one 5-0 victory. In the La Liga Division, Olympiacos NY Red defeated United Philly Soccer 2010 Boys Blue 3-1 in the final after United Philly played an extremely hard-fought draw against Aztec Boys 2010 National, which saw them advance to the final over Aztex on the goal differential tie-breaker. In the Ekstraklasa Division, Ginga FC Boys 2010 Elite Pre-National League went 4-0-0, keeping a clean sheet in their final three games to claim first place. In the Jupiler Pro League Division, Match Fit Academy FC 2010 ECNL Regional defeated Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth NE Academy 10 in the final after both teams finished group play 3-0-0.




In the Women's International Champions Cup Division, four teams finished group play with a 2-1-0 record, and it was SUSA FC G09 RL who made it to the final against NJ Premier G2009 - Blue. World Class FC SCP Roxbury Elite Ruckus and Pittsgrove Soccer Club PSC Milan '09 ended up in the third place match. In the final, SUSA went on to defeat NJ Premier 4-2. In the Women's FA Cup Division, NJ Crush FC 2009 National defeated SUSA FC G09 Carolina in a high-scoring championship match. In the Algarve Cup Division, Rancocas Valley SC United Premier 2009 started their weekend with a 3-3 draw, but rattled off three straight wins capped off with a 2-0 championship game victory over Long Island SC LISC Girls 2009 Premier. In the Peace Queen Cup Division, Inter CT FC NAC defeated SUSA FC G09 Navy in the final.


In the MLS Division, SJEB FC 09B Academy went 3-0-0 to advance to the final where they would take on division favorite and reigning EDP Cup Champion STA-MUSC 2009B ECNL. In the final, the SJEB back line was able to hold the high-powered STA off the board, and despite STA having the majority of possession, SJEB FC scored the game's lone goal to go home as champions. In the Campeonato Brasileiro Division, STA-MUSC 2009B ECRL allowed just one goal in group play, but relied on their attack in the final as they defeated the high-powered TSF Academy 2009 Boys EDP 5-3 in the final. In the Allsvenskan Division, STA Mt Olive SC 2009 EDP Boys defeated Olympiacos NY 2009 Blue in the final. In the Ligue 1 Division, both groups went to a tie-breaker and OBSL 2009 Elite Blue met Match Fit Academy FC ECNL Regional 2009 in the final, where OBSL came out as champions. In the Nemzeti Bajnoksag Division, CT Rush South 2009 Boys dropped a 4-2 decision to Monmouth United Soccer MUSC 2009 Boys Blue in group play, but bounced back in the rematch in the final when CT Rush won the match up 5-0.


In the Olympic Summer Games Division, SUSA FC G08 ECNL RL and Philadelphia SC Coppa 08 Express both went 3-0-0 in group play. After SUSA defeated Europa Lions FC 2008 G Blue 2-1 in the final group play game to reach the final, they followed it up with a 2-0 win in the final. In the Women's Asian Cup Division, NYCFC Girls 2008/09 defeated NJ Surf South Shore 2008 Girls 2-0 in the final.


In the Premiership Division, Met Oval Academy 2008 East Boys and Dillsburg Area SC DASC FC Fury played two very close matches during the weekend, meeting in the opener and the final. The two traded results, with Dillsburg winning the group game, and Met Oval winning the final. In the Serie A division, Yardley Makefield Soccer 2008 Boys Fury and Patriot FC 2008 Boys Red both advanced to the final on the goal differential tie-breaker, and the final was no different than group play with the game being extremely tight, with Patriot FC 2008 Boys Red winning the championship.


In the CONCACAF Gold Cup Division, Lower Merion SC Furia went 3-0-0 in group play, but was defeated by Princeton SA Elite 64 08G in the final. In the Kirin Challenge Cup Division, Mount Laurel United (MLU) Fire won their group stage games 2-0, 1-0 and 2-0, and in the final again kept a clean sheet in a close match when they defeated New Jersey Rush 07 Girls Grey.


In the Eredivisie Division, Real oLe FC B2007 defeated Medford Strikers Academy 2007 Boys 2-0 in the final to finish the weekend with four wins out of four while scoring multiple goals in each match. In the J League Division, Jackson SC Warriors beat Jersey City Soccer Association JC Strikers in the final.


In the Liga MX Division, Warrington FC Force defeated Whitpain 06 United Black 3-0 in the final. The win topped off an excellent weekend for Warrington, as they did not concede a goal, and defeated East Meadow Soccer Club Monaco 2-0 on Sunday morning to reach the final in a game where they needed to win or draw.


In the Eliteserien Division, SJEB FC 05B Premier went 1-0-2 in group play when they drew West Mont 2-2, Warrington 1-1 and defeated Danubia SC Hotspurs 3-2. In the final, they finally found some breathing room in a match, as they had a two-goal advantage in the 2-0 win when they, once again, defeated Danubia SC Hotspurs.
