EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2024 Tournament Recap



The EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2024 concluded EDP Soccer’s final showcase of the 2023-2024 season. The competition was held alongside the East Region ODP Tournament, creating a unique recruiting experience that featured top players and teams.  
The showcase hosted 225 squads from more than 125 clubs. Teams participated from Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. EDP Pathway to CollegeTM partners Signing Day Sports and Next Level Video were both onsite to enhance the recruiting experience for the prospective student-athletes. College coaches from the Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 levels were all at Tuckahoe Turf Farms to evaluate the aspiring collegiate players.

17U Girls

Reading Rage 07 Press showed why they are the number one ranked team in the nation, going 3-0-0 to win the Diamond Bracket. Both they and Sporting Athletic GA from the Girls Academy League went 3-0-0, defeating Canada’s SC Toronto Eagles, NJ State Champions STA MOSC 07G GA NAL, and NJ Premier FC. The nation's number two ranked team went 2-1-0, falling to STA MOSC 07G GA NAL in their opening game. Other Division winners included Wall Elite Napoli, LVU RUSH ECNL-RL G07, and Match Fit Academy FC Central 2007.  



17U Boys

PDA Hibernian Scholes and Florida’s Schulz Academy 2007 each went 2-0-1 at the top of the Platinum Bracket. PDA Hibernian started the event with a 1-1 draw against Soccer Stars United Gravity before defeating Jersey Shore BOCA Jr FC 07 Boys 1-0. On day two, they opened the flood gates defeating Elite SC Plainfield 7-3. Schulz Academy had three very close matches. In their opening match, they edged by Jersey Shore BOCA Jr FC 07 Boys 1-0, and then drew against Elite SC Plainfield 1-1. On day two, they topped Soccer Stars United Gravity 2-1. Other Division winners included Deptford Premier FC '07 Boys, Match Fit Academy FC 2007 Boys Shore, Cape Express CE Lightning 2006, STA-MUSC 2007B USYS, Stony Brook LGN SC Storm White B2007, and Mount Laurel United Phantoms.

16U Girls

Reading Rage SC Pugh and STA 2008G GA NAL both went 3-0-0, with each allowing just one goal against. Reading Rage scored 12 goals throughout their three matches, scoring five goals in each of their first two matches and defeating NLSA 2008 Girls ECNL-RL 2-0 in the final match. STA scored three goals in each of their first two games, winning 3-1 and 3-0, and closed out the event with a 1-0 win. Other Division winners included SJEB FC 08G NL, Match Fit Academy FC 2008 Girls Shore ECRL, STA MOSC 2008G GA NAL, Steel United NJ 2008G Elite, and PDA/SCP EDP 2008. 



16U Boys

Met Oval Academy 2008 won the Platinum Bracket going unbeaten. They opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over Franklin Township SC United Elite, and won another high-scoring thriller with a 4-3 win over SJFC Cobras Elite 2008. Other Division winners included PSC Academy 2008 Boys Blue, NJ Surf South Marlton 08B, FC Ballyhoo 08 Boys Black, United Philly Soccer 2008 B Premier, Patriot FC 2008 Boys Red, NLSA 2008 Boys EDP, and Elite Plainfield AC Strong. 


15U Girls

Yardley Makefield Soccer 2009 Girls Premier Celtic Ghirls won the Diamond Bracket, going 2-0-1, and finishing one point better than both Guelph Gryphons GU15 Red and STA 2009G GA NAL. YMS defeated Brooklyn United Academy G2009 National in their first game, and then drew 2-2 against Delaware FC 2009. On Sunday, they faced off against Canadian side Guelph Gryphons GU15 Red, winning an exciting match 3-2, clinching first place for their team. Other Division winners included Deptford Premier FC 09G NL, Stateline SC-2009G Bears, Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Cantera, and FC Berna Legacy 09 Girls Gold. 


15U Boys

Two of New Jersey’s best teams finished 2-0-1 at the top of the table in the Platinum Division. Cedar Stars Academy North 09B Elite 64, and Torpedoes BU15 Red drew 1-1 on the final day that saw them both finish on seven points, while Sporting PA 2009 Boys and Met Oval Academy 2009 finished right behind them with six points. Other Division winners included Quaker Elite Soccer Club Magicians, Brooklyn United Academy B2009 National, Celta Academy Gallegos 2009, Lehigh Valley United 2009 Boys EDP, Brentwood SC 009 Pre-Academy EDP, and Cherry Hill SC Raptors 2009. 


19U Girls

Wall Elite Atletico won the Diamond Bracket with a 3-0-0 record. Their first game was a 2-1 win over Cohansey Premier 2006G Navy, followed by another two-goal performance with a 2-0 win over Patriot FC 2006 Girls Red. They concluded the event and their season with a 3-2 win over Jersey South FC 05/06G to claim first place. RUSA FC G2006 Blue won the Emerald Bracket going 3-0-0.



19U Boys

Medford Strikers Academy Boys 2006 won the Platinum bracket, winning all three of their matches. After opening with a 3-1 win over second place PDA Hibernian Kane, they recorded big wins over both Quick Touch Futbol 06/05, and Kearny Thistle United FC B2006 EDP Black. Other Division winners included Cedar Stars Academy North 2005/06 Boys NAL and Liverpool FCNJ 2006 Boys.
