EDP Cup Spring 2024 Tournament Recap



EDP Soccer hosted its popular EDP Cup Spring 2024 this past Memorial Day Weekend, annually ranked one of the top events in the nation by GotSport. The weekend featured over 260 9U-14U Boys and Girls teams from nine state associations including CT, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NYE, OH, PAE, VA and even Ontario, Canada; and all games were played at the premier, all-grass venue – Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ. In total, EDP Soccer and International Sporting Events (iSE) hosted four events over Memorial Day Weekend.
 
The brackets featured best vs best competition, with teams from the nation’s top leagues taking part, creating opportunities for quality participants from different leagues to compete. Teams from MLS Next, ECNL, National Academy League, USYS National League, EDP Leagues, and more were all in action.

9U Boys

Futboltech 2015 – Liverpool (NJ) dominated the 9U Boys Gold Bracket going 3-0-0 in the group stage before defeating AKZ Canada 2015, 4-1 in the final. AKZ Canada reached the final with a draw against NJ Premier B2015 - Blue, and two victories against FC Westchester B2015 Blue and Western United Pioneers FC 2015 Boys Elite Red.  In the 9U Silver Bracket, Cedar Stars Academy North Bergen 2015 Boys Pre-Academy won a close 1-0 contest against Futboltech 2015 – Flamengo in the final; Tru Tekkers NYC Elite won the Bronze Bracket, and World Elite Soccer Academy 2015 Boys won the Copper Bracket.


10U Boys

STA-MUSC 2014B Pre-ECNL reached the Gold Bracket final by going 3-0-0 in group playing defeating Pipeline Soccer Club 2014 Boys North Black, Asphalt Green B2014 Green, and TSF Academy - NJ 2014 Boys Futures Blue. In Group B, Western United Pioneers FC 2014 Boys Elite Red went 2-0-1 to secure their spot in the final. Western United held on to claim the championship with a 2-1 win over the STA-MUSC side. In the Silver Bracket, Futboltech 2014 - Juventus defeated World Class FC 2014 ADL NL; Lehigh Valley United 2014 Boys Pre-ECNL won the Silver Bracket; Lehigh Valley United 2014 Boys Pre-ECNL won the Bronze Bracket; Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth 2014B Pre-Academy and Tobar Futbol Academy Madrid 14 were named co-champions in the Copper Bracket; and JOGA FC 2014B won the Titanium Bracket. 

11U Boys

In the 11U Platinum Bracket, FC Westchester 2013 Blue made it through group play 3-0-0 to secure their spot in the final where they would meet STA-MUSC 2013B Pre-ECNL, who also went through group play undefeated. In the final, STA-MUSC's offense proved too much to handle, and they came away with the solid 5-2 victory. Manhattan SC PSG 2013 Blue won the Gold Bracket; Barca Academy Pro NY B2013 PEDRI and Western United Pioneers FC Western United Pioneers FC Boys 13 Red were named co-champions in the Silver Bracket; Manhattan SC PSG 2013 White and Brentwood SC (LIJSL) 2013 Pre-Academy Green were name co-champions in the Bronze Bracket; and Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth 2013B Pre-Academy 1 and FC Copa Academy B13 Black Flemington were name co-champions in the Copper Bracket. 


12U Boys

In the Platinum Bracket, two strong leaders emerged during group play with Revolution Select 2012 and Dutch Connections FC Academy 2012 Boys from Ontario both going 3-0-0 to secure their spot in the final showdown. In the final, the Canadian team held on for a narrow 1-0 victory to claim the championship. The 12U Gold Bracket was won by Barca Academy Pro NY B2012 PRO (NYE); JOGA FC 2012B won the Silver Bracket; TSF Academy - NJ 2012 Boys Pre MLS NAL White won the Bronze Bracket; and Western United Pioneers FC 2012 Boys Elite White won the Copper Bracket. 



13U Boys

In the Platinum Bracket, Connecticut FC ECNL B11 came into the weekend’s tournament as one of the teams to watch, evidenced by leading their league division with a 12-1-0 record. They were a strong force all weekend, only conceding a single goal. They faced an equally-impressive opponent in the final – MLS Next side Western United Pioneers FC 2011 Boys Elite Red – who were also very strong defensively, shutting out three teams in group play. In the final, it was Connecticut FC who claimed the championship with a 2-0 victory. SJEB FC 11B ECNL RL won the Gold Bracket; DUSC B2011 Blue won the Silver Bracket; Dutch Connections FC Academy 2011 Boys won the Bronze Bracket; and Western United Pioneers FC 2012 Boys Elite Red won the Copper Bracket. 


14U Boys

HEX FC Dominion ECNL 10B reached the 14U Platinum Bracket final with a 2-0-1 record in group play, first drawing with Manhattan SC Chelsea ECNL B10, 1-1, and then defeating Torpedoes SC BU14 Red and Smithtown Kickers SC LI Slammers Boys 2010 Maroon by the same score of 3-0. They were set to face FC Westchester U14, who also reached the final with a record of 2-0-1 in group play. In the championship match, HEX FC Dominion achieved another shut-out victory, 2-0, only allowing a single goal across the entire weekend. In the Gold Bracket, SJEB FC 10B ECNL RL defeated FC Toronto Red, 2-1; Cedar Stars Academy North 10B Elite 64 won the Silver Bracket; FC Transylvania Boys 2010 and NJ Premier FC B2010  were name co-champions in the Bronze Bracket; and Chelsea Piers Chelsea Piers SC 2010 and New Jersey Surf South Marlton 2010 Boys were name co-champions in the Copper Bracket.   


9U Girls

In the 9U Ruby Bracket, Harrison SC Wolfpack 2015 went 3-0-0 in group play, only allowing one goal; and Western United Pioneers FC 2015 Girls Elite Red landed in second place after group play on goal differential. Due to field conditions, the final was cancelled, and Harrison SC and Western United Pioneers were name co-champions. In the Emerald Bracket, NJ Premier FC G2015 defeated Ole FC Pre-Academy G2016, by a narrow margin of 4-3, to claim the championship. 


10U Girls

In the Ruby Bracket, Middletown SC Thunder Red scored 11 goals in group play with a record of 3-0-0, while Villanova Soccer Academy Valkyries 2014 Girls Pink claimed the second spot after group play on goal differential. Due to field conditions, the final was not played, and Middletown SC and Villanova Soccer Academy were named co-champions. In the Emerald Bracket, NJ Premier FC G2014 claimed the championship with a 3-1 victory over Connecticut side Ole FC Pre-Academy G2014. 


11U Girls

The 11U Girls Diamond Bracket was a five-team round robin where CFC North 2013 Pre-ECNL Black came away with the championship after going undefeated, with a perfect 4-0-0 record over the weekend. Second place was claimed by STA-MUSC 2013G Pre-GA, whose only loss was a close 2-1 match against CFC. In the Ruby Bracket, Commack Soccer Stingrays G13 and Prince William Soccer Courage Pre-ECNL G13 were named co-champions, as lightning prevented the completion of the final.  


12U Girls

Prince William Soccer Courage Pre-ECNL G12 from Virginia reached the final with a 3-0-0 record in group play while only allowing a single goal. Their opponent in the final, Mantua Township SA Elite Storm 2012 was a rematch of Saturday’s game. In their first game on Saturday, Prince William won 2-1, and in the final, they continued their winning streak with a 2-0 victory to secure the Diamond Bracket championship. In the Ruby Bracket, Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Legacy and NJ Premier FC NJ Premier G2012  were named co-champions. 


13U Girls

The 13U Girls Diamond Bracket was a four-team round robin format. Three teams, HEX FC Dominion USYS 11G, NJ Premier G2011, and Lehigh Valley United 2011 Girls Black were all on 6 points going into the final which could not be played due to field conditions. NJ Premier FC G2011 and HEX FC Dominion USYS 11G  were named co-champions. In the Ruby Bracket, Wall Soccer Club Wall Elite Monaco and Commack Soccer Crossfire G12 were set to meet in the final after each team went 3-0-0 in group play, however the final could not be played due to field conditions and both teams were named co-champions. 


14U Girls

The 14U Girls Diamond Bracket was a five-team round robin, with Harrison SC Swarm 2010 coming out the champions with an overall record of 3-0-1; their lone tie coming against second-place team Egg Harbor SC Lady Eagles 2010. In the Ruby Bracket, HEX FC Dominion USYS 10G was set to meet SJEB FC 10G Premier in the final after both teams went 3-0-0 in group play with strong offensive performances. The final could not be played due to field conditions, and both teams were named co-champions.
