EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI Girls from last weekend’s EDP Cup Spring event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected.
The Best XI Girls from the EDP Cup Spring 2022 are:
NJ PREMIER G2008 - EMMA SEAMON #30
Emma is a forward who is really fast without and with the ball and has a great soccer intelligence. She had several goals and assists this weekend.
SJEB FC 08 GA - MEGHAN SHANNON #8
Shannon worked tirelessly in center-midfield to disrupt the opposition’s flow — her ball-winning, tackling, and interceptions set off countless attacks for SJEB FC’s dangerous front line. In possession, she showed poise and maturity and linked up play in the attacking-midfield role. She had a pulse for the game and provided bursts of energy when the team needed it the most.
JERSEY SHORE BOCA JR FC O'HARA - CAMERYN KARLOVITCH #10
Cameryn was a force in the center-midfield position — not just with her feet, but her directional head balls to stop attacks and gain possession. Her quick transition and vision led to multiple scoring chances and opportunities for her team.
SJEB FC 09 GA - HUNTER KINTZING #9
Kintzing led the line with strong running and stretched the game with her pace and power and was a constant threat to opposition’s defenders. She scored several goals and created many chances for her teammates during the four games.
CEDAR STARS MONMOUTH 2010G GREEN - SORA TAYLOR #5
WUSC 2010G - JULIA BRADLEY #25
Julia was a calming presence on the back line all weekend. She showed great composure and decision-making under pressure while helping secure two shutouts against tough opponents.
MATCH FIT ACADEMY FC 2011G SHORE WHITE - SOPHIA DOURGARIAN #5
Sophia was the anchor of the strong Match Fit Shore back line. She won countless tackles this weekend to begin the build-up play which led to many of the team’s goals starting from the defensive third.
CEDAR STARS MONMOUTH 2011G GREEN - SUMMER SAWYER #13
FAIRFIELD UNITED GIRLS 2008 PREMIER - EMILY PAUL #34
Emily anchored her squad’s defense with an unflappable steadiness. She intuitively knew when to step, when to contain and when to tackle. She initiated her team’s offense with her solid distribution skills. One of the team’s captains, she was a leader who was consistently consistent, positive and a role model to those around her.
PSA PRINCETON '09G - MYA SCHULTE #7
Mya was a key attacking-player on the wing and consistent goal-scorer for the team. Her ability to be creative in her movement off the ball and combine allowed space for her teammates to attack from the back and overload the box. She was clinical in her ability to finish off of crosses in the attacking third.
MEDFORD SC MAGIC 2010 GIRLS - BELLA PRONKOWITZ #14
Bella was a key contributor in the attack for the Magic and played an integral part in their tournament win. She scored nine goals in four games. Not only was she a scoring threat, but she created numerous opportunities for her teammates.
