EDP Cup Fall Showcase Boys 2024 - Tournament Recap



The EDP Cup Fall Showcase Boys took place Friday through Sunday at Tuckahoe Turf Farms and Green Branch Park. Over 200 teams were in attendance across 15U-19U age groups. Clubs for the event represented eight states, including NJ, NY, CT, PA, DE, MD, VA, and FL. With top teams and more than 20 fields at a single venue, the event attracted college coaches from the Division 1, 2 and 3 levels, with schools in attendance from Maine down to Virginia. In addition to the Showcase, the MLS Next Friendlies included BW Gottschee, Met Oval Academy, TSF Academy, and Real FA who prepared for the upcoming MLS Next Fest.

In the Platinum Bracket, it was very tight from top to bottom, with six out of nine games being decided by one goal or less. FC Copa B06/07 ECNL RL led the bracket with 7 points, followed by HEX FC Dominion ECNL 06/07B with 5 points, and three teams tied with 4 points. FC Copa and Hex FC drew 3-3 in the first game with FC Copa mounting a second-half comeback. FC Copa then had back-to-back wins Saturday and Sunday, a 2-0 win over SJEB FC 06/07B ECNL RL and a 5-2 win over Yardley Makefield Soccer 2007 Boys Premier Blackout NL EDP. 


In the Platinum Bracket, both Lancaster Football Club U17 and PSA Monmouth '08 Boys went 3-0-0 to finish top of the table. Lancaster FC was powered by a strong attack, scoring three goals in their 3-2 win over HEX FC Dominion ECNL 08B and then four goals in a 4-2 win over Yardley Makefield Soccer 2008 Boys Premier Celtic NL EDP. They closed the weekend with a 1-0 win over BW Gottschee '08 II. PSA Monmouth also had a high powered attack, scoring 12 goals over their three games, with their biggest offensive output against FC Florida Prep 2008, who finished in third in the bracket.

 



In the Platinum Bracket, two sides went unbeaten, but World Class FC 2009 ECNL was the lone side to win all three of their matches. They had back-to-back 1-0 wins over FC Europa - RL B09 and Yardley Makefield Soccer 2009 Boys Premier Warriors, and then closed out the weekend with a third straight clean sheet beating Quaker Elite Soccer Club Magicians 4-0. STA-MOSC Elite 64 09B finished in second place going 2-0-1.



In the Platinum Bracket, Yardley Makefield Soccer 2010 Boys Premier United and World Class FC 2010 ECNL both finished with a 2-0-1 record at the top of the table. YMS and World Class entered day three with 2-0-0 records, with YMS taking on FC Europa - RL B10 and World Class taking on SJEB FC 10B ECNL RL, with both games ending in 1-1 draws.
