EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2024 Best XI Boys

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend's EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2024. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to the following players who were selected.

The Boys Best XI from the EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2024 are:

# 17 Ameer Emera- FC Copa B06/07 ECNL RL

Ameer played a key role in helping FC Copa 06/07 ECNL RL team finish top of their flight. He scored two goals in a 2-0 win on day two of the competition and his creativity and adaptability helped the team to score 10 goals in the three games. Ameer is a versatile attacker with excellent technical ability and lethal ball striking. Ameer has the power and pace to go 1v1, and the technique to find the killer pass, making him a very difficult player to defend.

# 11 Devin Kellan - JA Elite FC 06/07 Boys

Devin delivered a standout performance this weekend, showcasing his dominance with five goals across three games, including a hat-trick in a decisive 4-0 victory against the nationally ranked Medford Strikers, solidifying a first-place finish. His contributions were pivotal, demonstrating a remarkable combination of high soccer IQ, excellent decision-making, tireless work rate on both sides of the ball, and the ability to maintain possession, create chances, and score.

# 40 Rafael Gouvea - BVB IA Pittsburgh 06/07B Black

Rafael scored nine goals and added two assists as BVB IA Pitt went 3-0-0 on the weekend, with his excellent play contributing directly to 11 of the team's 16 goals.

# 3 Isaiah Boone - PSA Monmouth '08 Boys RL

Isaiah gave three standout performances over the course of the showcase, demonstrating solid defending, intelligent positioning, and a wide range of distribution from the center back position. Isaiah’s exceptional defending gave his team the platform needed to play, as they picked up three wins.

# 7 Drew Jones - Lancaster Football Club U17

Drew scored three goals across the three games. His ability to be creative in the final third and score goals was very impressive, as well as his ability to work and press high up on the pitch to not allow opposing players time on the ball. The team’s captain, his mindset and attitude to help his teammates through adversity and encourage them when they make mistakes was evident throughout the event.

# 10 Derek “DJ” Mosley Jr. - SJ Futbol Club Cobras Elite 2008

DJ was a dominant and dangerous force all weekend. He contributed three goals and provided four assists to help his team win the bracket.

# 10 Otto Morales - World Class FC 2009 ECNL

Otto's strong defensive performance over the weekend was a big factor in the team's three match clean sheet. Otto also managed to get forward from his defensive role and score a brilliant goal in the run of play. Otto's intensity and mentality on both sides of the game had a positive impact for his team over the weekend.

# 8 Waseem Almanakly - STA-MOSC Elite 64 09B

Waseem was a consistent threat in all the games, scoring two and being a part of all the good attacking play we had on his wing. He is a creative player with excellent ball control and quickness.

# 69 Andre Rodriguez - SYC U16B MLS Next II

Andre was by far one of the main reasons the team finished top of the bracket, as the goalkeeper, he only conceded two goals in three games against talented teams from PA and NJ. Andre had a memorable game against NJ Nationals FC where he had multiple saves in the first half, allowing his side to take a one goal lead into half. His focus and determination over the weekend helped the team finish out on top of the bracket with no losses.

# 99 Brody Collins - Yardley Makefield Soccer 2010 Boys Premier United

Brody was dominant both in and out of possession throughout the weekend. He contributed with a goal of his own, as well as continuously breaking up attacks from the opponent in the middle of the field.

# 22 Andrew Kachanovich - Syracuse Development Academy 2010B NAL

Andrew was a wall, playing center-back this weekend and leading the team to the top of the bracket. Opposing attacks could not find a way to get by his size, speed, and game savvy. He also had an amazing goal on the final day to lead his side to victory in a matchup of unbeaten teams.
