EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2022 Tournament Preview


The next two weekends, EDP Soccer will host the EDP Cup Fall Showcase, which is annually one of the top showcases in the region. The event will feature over 425 teams 15U-19U boys and girls teams from over 165 clubs, nine state associations and Canada. The tournament, held at Tuckahoe Turf Farms and Green Branch Park, will feature teams from across the top league platforms in the country creating best vs best matchups in the event's top divisions.

One of the top recruiting events in the region, over 200 college coaches are pre-registered to attend. EDP Soccer has partnered with SportsRecruits and Next Level Video for the event, with all games being filmed and made available to college coaches to enhance the recruiting experience for players at the event.

A look at some of the event’s brackets:

The boys weekend will host MLS Next Friendlies featuring three MLS Next Clubs from New Jersey and also four of the top USYS teams in the nation. TSF Academy, Real Jersey FC and Cedar Stars Monmouth will represent MLS Next with their 19U, 17U, 16U and 15U teams, with the USYS teams composed of the top-performing Mid Atlantic Conference team at the 2021 USYS National Championships. These teams include National Champions Cedar Stars North 2004, featuring star players Kwaku Agyabeng and Ransford Gyan, FC Europa 2006, FC Bucks Dominion 2007, and YMS 2008.


The 19U Boys bracket includes some of the top teams around the country. GESP FC brings a collection of top players from New England Prep Schools to NJ to take on top National League and ECNL sides. They will take on STA 2004/2005 ECNL and Manhattan SC Freedom 2004 ECNL, and BRAUSA ’04 Blue, with CT Rush Select 2005 Boys Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 04/05B also in the bracket. In the other Platinum Bracket are five teams who will be a part of National League P.R.O. BRAUSA ’05 Blue, Cedar Stars Hudson Valley 2005, Lower Merion SC Legacy, SJEB FC 05B Academy and Penn Alliance Select Elite ’04 will be joined by FC Florida Prep Academy.


The 19U Girls will feature teams from two National League Conferences, and includes National League P.R.O. participant Jersey South FC Galaxy. Joining them from NJ is NJ Premier FC G05/04, Capital United SC Blue Lightning from NY, and FC Europa, PA Dominion, and Penn United Force from PA.


The 18U Girls includes several top-ranked teams, and also includes CS St-Hubert from Canada. The group includes Force FC G2005 NL, NJ Stallions 05 North, Penn Alliance Select ‘05, NJ Surf South Shore and Medford Strikers 2005.


The 17U Boys bracket will see Canadian powerhouse club Vaughan Azzurri be a part of the Platinum bracket with top teams from five different states. FC Florida Prep Academy travels north from Florida, where they will see STA 2006B ECNL, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 06B, Dix Hills EST Ultimatum B2006, and GESP FC.


The 17U Girls bracket features teams from three different states, with two of New Jersey’s top teams in NJ Rush 06 Girls Grey and The Football Academy NJ 2006 Girls Black ready to battle other National League Conference participants. Force FC 2006 NL was the ENY State Cup finalist, and Keystone Athletic, North Union United and PA Classics travel in from Pennsylvania.


The 16U Boys age group has a collection of out of area teams, with CS St-Hubert and Vaughan Azzurri both traveling down from Canada, where they will be joined by FC Florida Prep, Manhattan SC Roma 2007 ECNL, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 07B and EPYSA State Cup Finalist Lehigh Valley United 2007 Boys ECNL.


The 16U Girls has EPYSA State Cup finalist Lower Merion SC Furia and Semi-Finalist Reading Rage ’07 Press both in attendance and ready to take on NJ State Cup Semi-finalist West Deptford Fury 2007. NJ Surf South Shore 07G enters the event ranked number seven in the nation, Rexdale United FC Impact is a top team from Canada, and the group is rounded out by National League P.R.O. participant Force FC G2007 EDP NL.


The 15U Boys will see NJYS State Cup Champion Ironbound SC 2008 United ECNL powerhouse World Class FC 2008 ECNL, Brooklyn Italians 2008 EDP and CS St-Hubert from Canada, with FCE-LMSC 2008 Thunder and Cerritos Soccer Academy 2008 rounding out the top bracket.


The 15U Girls features two of the nation’s top teams with the number 8 ranked ENY State Champions FC Somers Lady Hammers and YMS 2008 Premier Spirit EDP NL who is ranked fifth in the nation. They are both joined by NLSA 2008 Girls Elite, 1776 United 2008 Girls, Cinnaminson SC Union 2008 and CS St-Hubert from Canada.
