EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2022 Best XI Boys


EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2022 Boys. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to the following players who were selected.

The Best XI from the EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2022 Boys are:

#10 Brandon Epstein - Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 04/05B

Brandon was excellent all weekend long, leading his team to a first place finish. He contributed two goals and two assists in the team’s three games.


#9 Justin Thomas - STA-MUSC 2004/2005B ECNL

Justin, a forward for STA led the front line that scored five goals in the event. He was a constant threat to the opponent, and a major reason for the team’s success over the weekend.


#18 Joshua Moreland - SJEB FC 05B Academy

Josh was the key to a well-rounded attack in all three games over the weekend, he not only scored but had multiple assists while creating scoring opportunities for the team. Josh was dynamic and a threat all weekend, his skill and work rate was unmatched.


#18 Mason McCrea - Lower Merion SC Legacy

Mason led the group this weekend with two goals and three assists in three games. Mason created a ton of chances for both himself and for others due to his willingness to run at defenders when in possession and press defenders when in defense. His transitional play on both sides of the ball were exceptional all weekend long.


#19 Will Burton - FC Frederick FCF '04 Boys

Will Burton led the FC Frederick 04 Boys to three wins on the weekend, contributing three goals and two assists. Will's tenacious midfield defending and tactical awareness enabled him to join the attack early and often, playing a role in five of the 10 team goals scored.


#5 Carson Peck - FC Revolution Gunners 05

The U18 FC Revolution Gunners won all three of their group games over the weekend, scoring six and conceding only one goal. As a box-to-box central midfielder, Carson scored a goal in each of the three wins and was instrumental in helping to keep two clean sheets.


#10 Ricardo Sanchez - STA 2006B ECNL

Ricky's workrate, energy off the ball and attacking threat were all on display this weekend. Two goals and two assists tell only a small part of the story for Ricky this weekend, as his willingness to drive his teammates on during games set a great platform for a successful weekend for the STA 2006 ECNL team.


#5 Jaume Sanahuja - GESP FC U17

Jaume was excellent all weekend long. His composure and technical ability were both second to none. He led the team in keeping a clean sheet victory against top ranked Dix Hills Elite.


#8 Romero Nicolazzo - Milton Showcase 2006

Romero was a top performer and played a key role for his side winning the EDP Cup. His vision to anticipate the play before it develops is unmatched. He scored critical goals in two separate games that separated the team from the rest. Romero was one of the top box-to-box players at the event.


#93 Bryant Tenesaca - Manhattan SC Roma 2007 ECNL

Bryant was a steady presence both on and off the ball from the backline for the boys from New York City. The central defender put forth his best performance in a 3-1 win over Vaughn SC Azzurri (Canada) where his key defensive tackles, clearances and high ball possession helped generate some key offensive opportunities.


#2 Michael Rafalowski - FCE-LMSC 2008 Thunder

Michael was the engine behind the Thunder going undefeated on the weekend. His consistent effort, determination, and creativity helped him serve as a link between the back line and an attack that scored six goals in three games. He was also an integral part of a midfield that helped shield the back line, helping the team give up only two goals all weekend, with two shutouts on Sunday. Michael's workrate was fantastic all weekend.
