EDP Cup Fall 2024 Best XI Girls

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend's EDP Cup Fall 2024. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to the following players who were selected.

The Girls Best XI from the EDP Cup Fall 2024 are:

# 41 Harkin Brown – New York SC 11G GA

Harkin made a tremendous impact for her team during the EDP Cup Fall tournament. She played left winger and was instrumental in the team’s strong attack, scoring six goals over the weekend.

# 20 Ava Hubley - HEX FC Dominion USYS 11G

Ava was a consistent threat and focal point of our attack all weekend, with a total of six goal contributions (three goals/three assists) including a goal and an assist in the final.

# 8 Gabriella Vasquez – NYCFC Girls 2012 North

Gabriella played center midfield and was an instrumental piece for the team. She used her ability to dictate play in the midfield to influence her team. Her quick decision-making skills combined with her ability to pass the ball created chances for her team to score. This was also complimented by her goal-scoring ability, having scored four key goals for the team in the chase to the championship.

# 27 Madison Decker – Wall Elite Porto 2012G

Madison is the team’s center defensive midfielder and was a critical part of Porto's success this weekend. Her deep lying role in the midfield was crucial in our build up to allow our attacker success. She was also vital in breaking up plays defensively and being a shield for her back four. Madison's composure on the ball and her tenacity without the ball defensively was instrumental in an unbeaten weekend!

# 6 Grace Gallagher – Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 13G Pre-ECNL

Grace Gallagher, the # 6 attacking midfielder, was a huge boost to our weekend attack. She scored six goals and recorded many assists throughout the weekend. In the final, Grace was able to score two goals and had one assist to help Ukrainian Nationals ECNL defeat STA GA, 3-1.

# 27 Amelia Puccio – Torpedoes GU12 Red 1

Amelia was the catalyst for a potent Torpedoes offense, that scored 22 goals and stingy defense that surrendered one all weekend in route to a U12 EDP Cup Fall Championship. Using her technical ability and speed, she scored the first goal in three of the four games and finished with seven goals and three assists to lead the team in scoring.

# 35 Lily O’Brien – Council Rock United FC Bucks 2014 Magic

Lily played center midfield and was a standout player as her CRUSA FC Bucks team went undefeated over the weekend. The team scored 13 goals and only let up three in four games. Lily was impressive on and off the ball, she helped to control possession and create attacks. She also contributed by scoring key goals including a penalty in the final.

# 22 Adelyn Sieb - Nationals Oakland 14 Girls Black

Adelyn Sieb was a constant threat offensively for the Nationals this weekend. She was the leading scorer and helped to create tons of chances for her team. Her defensive pressure also caused problems for the other teams' defenses.

# 22 Riley Pohle - Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 15G Black

Riley played goalkeeper and was a big part of the 2015 Girls team's success this weekend. She let up the least number of goals in her age bracket. Riley also had two shutouts on the weekend, one being in the final against a strong PDA team. Riley also was able to start a lot of the attacks for the Ukrainian Nationals by using her feet to distribute the ball out of the back.

# 10 Jillian Sullivan - PDA South 2015G Ambush

Even though the number 10 is normally reserved for the best player on the field and the playmaker, Jillian is able to make that number all her own by being a standout defender.  She is a player who rarely comes off the field and played a huge role during the four-game weekend.  Her ability to pass out of the back and play through the lines was huge in the success of the team, not to mention scoring a goal from the other side of midfield was pretty awesome too.

# 1 Lily O’Flynn – Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 16G Black

Lily O’Flynn # 1, of the Ukrainian Nationals 2016 Black team, was an anchor in the center of the midfield helping her team go undefeated in the top bracket of the EDP Cup Fall. Lily controlled the play, distributed the ball to create scoring opportunities, and also scored a handful of goals herself.
