2022 EDP Cup Spring Showcase BEST XI Recipients

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI Boys from last weekend’s USYS Regional Showcase New England event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected. The Best XI Boys from the USYS Regional Showcase New England are:

SOUTHEAST SC 04/03 BOYS - TIMMY LYNCH #2 Timmy had a great weekend, leading the team on the field with his play. Timmy's motor is evident as he's all over the field winning tackles on the ground and in the air. Timmy's highlight of the weekend was a 70-yard strike that ended up being the game winner in our final match of the weekend. The team went undefeated at the tournament.

BRIDGEPORT PREMIER FC O3/04 BOYS - JOSHUA MUNOZ #7 Josh scored four goals and had two assists. Josh was a thorn in the defenses’ sides, a constant threat to defenses all weekend. Not only was he a solid goal-scorer but also created opportunities for his teammates. In the end Josh's attacking ability was on full display.

LONG ISLAND SLAMMERS B2005 - KEVIN PINZON #6 Kevin was one of the players with the most tactical discipline, giving balance to the team in defense and very good assisting in the attack. He had a great vision all tournament and was a very strong and smart player.

TWO BRIDGES FOOTBALL CLUB 2005 BOYS - OSCAR PARRAGA #5 Oscar Parraga was the team’s player of the tournament. He wore number 5 and kept the team’s back line clear of goals and saved a lot of chances. He also started a number of attacks.

JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON EDS N 2006 BOYS BIANCO - ARTHUR DOS SANTOS #19 Arthur scored the game-winner in the first game vs DUSC. He also scored two goals and recorded an assist in game 3 vs Scarborough Academy. He was a consistent attacking threat for the team and lethal in moments of transition. He had an impactful performance in all three games and was a constant menace for the opposing teams’ defense.

DUSC B2006 BLUE - KAMILO PINTO #56 Kamilo is the engine that drove his team. He scored one goal and assisted on another. His presence was felt throughout an entire match. He stopped the other team's attack, he commenced attacks, he was a baller-winner, facilitator, creator and, as displayed in the final game, a finisher as well. He plays from box-to-box and is always willing to do the dirty work. He played 95% of the minutes this weekend even with temperatures reaching in the 90s. He is a true competitor and leader for the DUSC 06 Blue team.

LONG ISLAND SLAMMERS B07 MAROON - JAKE HUTTER #52

NEFC BOYS 2007 - OWEN BALCAREL #21 Owen's energy level and athleticism set the tone for a successful weekend for the NEFC ECNL regional team allowing only one goal in the first two games and he had a clean sheet in the second game. Owen helped lead the squad making beautiful saves in all three games.

AZTEC SOCCER CLUB 2003/2004 - YVES MAUER #6 Yves anchored the defense all weekend helping the team to an undefeated 2-0-1 record. His defensive prowess helped start the attack which was one of the team's greatest strengths.

FUTURE SA 2005 - ENZO YU #14 Enzo Yu, center back #14, was vital to us only conceding one goal the whole tournament, and none in open play. His size, speed, and composure at center back makes him the most solid defensive player in the entire squad. His long passing out of the back and threat off set pieces is another one of his many contributions to the team. Besides being an exceptional center back, he’s a great player but an even better teammate. He always loves to support his teammates and brings a bright light in every room he steps into.

BEST FC 2006 BOYS RED - CHARLIE DESCHAINE #5 Charlie had a strong tournament, scoring three goals and one assist. His hold up play in the final third allowed his team to keep opposing teams under pressure while creating numerous attacking opportunities.
