2021 US Youth Soccer National Championships



RECAP OF TEAMS FROM LEAGUES MANAGED BY EDP SOCCER

From July 18-25 the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series took place at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. Twenty teams from Leagues managed by EDP Soccer participated in the event, featuring the top teams in the country. The teams included New England Surf 2008 G State Navy, Dynamite Academy 2007G, Real Jersey FC 2006 Girls, Philadelphia SC Coppa 05 Rage, Penn FC Youth 2004 F Lightning, Keystone FC Premier 03G, Nona Soccer Academy 2008 Boys, Brentwood SC 2008 Premier Man City, Doral SC Elite 07, Villanova SA Centurion 2007 Boys, PA Dominion FC 2005 Boys, Real Jersey FC 06 Boys, FC Europa 2006 Elite Boys, New England Surf 2004 B State Grey, Real Jersey FC 2004 Boys, PA Dominion FC 2004 Boys, SYC Lions 2003 Blue, Bethesda Blue U18 2003, Baltimore Celtic 2003 Premier and Lehigh Valley United 2002 Boys - LVU_FPA.

 

At 13U Boys, Nona Soccer Academy 2008 Boys and Brentwood SC 2008 Premier Man City were unable to top age group favorite and National Champion Utah Avalanche and finished in third and fourth place. The two sides met in the second game of the competition and drew 0-0.

At 14U Boys, Villanova SA Centurion 2007 Boys and Doral SC Elite 07 both finished group play 1-1-1, with Villanova SA Centurion 2007 advancing to the semi-final on a tie-breaker. In the semi-final, Villanova fell just short of OC Surf North.

At 15U Boys, Real Jersey FC 06 Boys fell just short 3-2 in their first match to the eventual National Champion, and ended up finishing group play 1-1-1, and did not reach the knockout stage.

At 16U Boys, PA Dominion FC 05 Boys’ Cinderella run came to an end as they failed to reach the knockout stage, losing two out of the three games by just one goal.

At 17U Boys, the East Region was dominant, with three of the four teams in the semi-final round from National League Conferences managed by EDP. PA Dominion FC 2004 Boys fell in the semi-final, and Real Jersey FC 2004 Boys defeated New England Surf 2004 B State Grey in their semi-final on their way to repeating as National Champions.

At 18U Boys, SYC Lions 2003 Blue, Bethesda Blue U18 2003, and Baltimore Celtic 2003 Premier each fell just short in the knockout stage, with all nine games involving the three teams finishing within one goal.

At 19U Boys, Lehigh Valley United 2002 Boys - LVU_FPA was unable to win their second consecutive McGuire Cup after not advancing out of the group stage.

At 13U Girls, New England Surf 2008 G State Navy started off strong with a 4-0 win, but a loss in their second game set up a must win final group game, and a 1-1 draw with Nationals Union saw them fall one point short of reaching the final.

At 14U Girls, Dynamite Academy 2007G went 2-1-0 in the group stage to reach the knockout stage; however they would come up short in the semi-final against the eventual National Champion.

At 15U Girls, Real Jersey FC 2006 Girls returned to Nationals for a second time, going 1-1-1 in group play, drawing with Cincinnati United Premier in the final group stage game to advance to the knockout stage but lost in a very close semi-final match to La Roca FC.

At 16U Girls, Philadelphia SC Coppa 05 Rage reached the final, defeating Broomfield SC Blast in the semi-final, before losing 2-0 to La Roca FC in the final, the only team to defeat them during the competition, as the two teams also played in the group stage with La Roca FC winning that match 1-0.

At 17U Girls, Penn FC Youth 2004 F Lightning was crowned National Champions, going 2-0-1 in group play and defeating Los Angeles SC in the semi-final and winning the final 2-0 over Utah Celtic.

At 18U Girls, Keystone FC Premier 03G went 3-0-0 in the group stages, scoring seven goals and keeping a clean sheet in all three games. In the semi-final, they were defeated 3-1 by eventual National Champion Impact United SC.
